Location
Anyone familiar with the geography of Siracusa will
know immediately from the mention of the word ‘Ortigia’
that the budget 3 star Hotel Palazzo Giaracá
enjoys an optimum location here in Siracusa. Located
just a few minutes from the small bridge that connects
the island to the mainland, the map below illustrates
how well positioned we are for, not only the exquisite
island of Ortigia itself, but also the train station,
the divine Bay of Siracusa and the Plemmirio Marine
Park.

Getting to Siracusa
The island of Sicily is served by both buses and trains.
In order to reach Siracusa, the latter is probably more
convenient. The main high speed line goes down the east
coast of the island from Messina - the gateway to Sicily
from mainland Italy, passing through the towns of Taormina
and Catania among others, and circumnavigating the awesome
spectacle of Mount Etna - Europe’s largest active
volcano.
If you’re planning on flying into Sicily, Catania,
the island’s second major city, has an airport
named Fontanarossa. You can take a train directly to
Siracusa from Catania in under an hour, or arrange for
us to come and pick you up by car at a competitive rate.
The journey is about 55km.
If considering hiring a car, we strongly recommend
you go with a well know international firm such as Hertz,
not a local dealer.
From Siracusa train station, simply exit the station,
turn right, cross the bridge to the island of Ortigia
and take your second right onto Via dei Mille. The 3
star budget Hotel Palazzo Giaracá Siracusa is
located at number 34. |
